Foot a cut from a knife 1892, Age: 33 yrs. 5 mths. Girth: 38”, Comp: Fair, Eyes: Brown, Hair: Brown. At Calgary Alb. 9/06/18.

Embarked Canada 10/08/18. Debarked England 25/08/18. TOS at Bramshott 26/08/18.

27/12/18 granted leave with warrant.  4/06/19 SOS. To Southampton 13/06/19, Debark Halifax NS. 20/06/19.  

Arrived in England 25/08/18, SOS to Canada 13/06/19. Medical: 16/05/19. Demobilization from 21^st Cdn. Res. Batt – Alberta. Discharged 

Henry also served in WWII, probably lied about his age. He was living in 19623/06/1919 5 in Charlton, ON. The family had no other information on Henry. Goldie Hawes (family), LAC. Henry Served with the Veteran’s Guard of Canada in WWII.

You have his last known place of residence as Carleton, Ont.That should be Charlton, Ontario.

He passed away in Charlton, Ontario in 1968.

As for this part “Henry also served in WWII, probably lied about his age”. My dad told me that my grandfather did lie about his age. I don’t have any documentation though, but I believe he served as a guard at a POW camp in Northern Ontario. Possibly at the camp at Monteith, apparently known as Camp Q or Camp 23, since that was closest to Charlton. I was told he wasn’t too far from home when he served in WWII.
