 US Army, Doctor. The son of Robert C. and Carrie (nee Henwood) Bert. Date of Birth: 21 August, 1882 [he had an older brother who died 3/12/1884] also born in Chatham. His father was a drugest located at 18 King St., Chatham, ON. In 1901 Reuben was working for his father as a ‘drug clerk’.

He immigrated to Detroit in 1900 and by 1901 Rueben was then a physician. He enlisted in the US Army in WWI on 12 September, 1918. He was a naturalized citizen living at 287 Woodward Ave., Detroit, Michigan. He was listed as having blue eyes, brown hair and medium build. His next of kin: Vay Ethel Bert, his wife.     

Dr. Reuben C. Bert passed away 8 April, 1938 and is buried at Maple Leaf Cemetery – Chatham, ON.
